浮生 隨筆 詩

Cheng Chuan Hu, the meaning of which I am given to follow, has always conducted me to make perfect. As the elder child of my parents, I was born to meet all expectations of my father, an engineer, and my mother, a haircutter; therefore I have never been allowed to lose confidence in myself since the childhood.
I did not spend my childhood in the city as most of my friends did, but I have a joyful childhood in the countryside along with my grandfather and grandmother. Due to the good opportunity, I could stay close to nature; besides, I have cultivated a concept since that every life has its right to survive in nature while humans cannot exaggerate themselves so much as to endanger other beings. It is because I have an experience of a hopeless cry in open plains when I lost the way back home in the dark. It is well acknowledged that human is dependent and cannot stay away too long from the crowds, especially for a five-year kid. I made an effort to find the way home while my grandfather was also searching for me. Finally, we encountered but I have no more tears to cry. The experience gives me a lesson that I should have the courage to get rid of all obstacles in the following life. Just as Julius Caesar put it, “I came, I see, I conquered,” the faith in oneself will transform into the courage of conquest.
Further, due to the country life, l developed the habit of making explanation of the natural phenomenon I see and hear. When I was a child, I preferred to think about such questions as why the clouds tend to move in the sky and why I can hear the beautiful songs performed by birds. It might seem so annoying that my parents are also troubled answering my questions about the stories they told me. Yet as to me, although sometimes I could not have the answer, it made me keep a habit of constant thinking. In the days of junior high school, I conducted an experiment on the movements by the force of the earth. In the experiment, I found something that I was not aware of before and just to my astonishment, the explanation should not be written in the textbook; I, however, did not give in to the lack of science knowledge, but wrote the questions in my notebook so that I would not forget them in the near future when I am able to work it out. Time has proven it to be a good learning attitude, for my knowledge often serves me right on the encounter of questions.
What I want to mention most is my interest. I like to read English magazines, such as Time Express; listen to English songs, such as pop music albums; watch English movies, such as the Lord of the Rings. English has been an important part of my life. In the morning, I would like to read one or two English articles to enhance my knowledge, yet sometimes when I wake up late, I will have no spare time to read even a short one and that day I will feel butterflies in my stomach. As to my English listening and speaking, I think I could be competent for a translator, owing to the five-year experience learning English with American teachers. Thanks to my teachers, I have kept good command of English listening and speaking, unlike other ordinary Chinese students, many of whom are my friends, who learn English only on the emphasis of reading and writing.
This is the way that I view English and nature. Although there is more I want to tell about myself, what I have mentioned can be the best summary of everything about me, so it cannot be better to know other things than to read my introduction.
